Attending to physical sensation without trying to change it nudges the nervous system toward parasympathetic dominance — HRV rises, and the body's urgency to resolve things begins to soften.

Sit with your hands open in your lap, palms facing up. Notice the weight of your body pressing down into the chair — solid, certain, here. Now notice the air moving across your palms — light, uncertain, passing through.

Both are happening at once. You don't have to choose.

Bring something to mind you've been trying to resolve: a question, a tension, a place where two true things seem to cancel each other out. Let it sit in your open hands. Don't push for an answer.
