Standing at the Threshold of New Season
Spring is arriving where you live, and your body knows it even if your mind hasn't caught up. Today, the equinox marks a perfect symmetry—equal light and shadow—and you stand at the threshold between what was and what's becoming. This is the moment Joe Dispenza speaks about when he describes the gap between stimulus and response as the place where creation happens. That gap is not theoretical. It's the space you actually inhabit right now, in this breath, in this season turning.
You've spent months in the unmapped territory of winter, learning what you cannot control. The cold came whether you willed it or not. The darkness fell on its own schedule. And yet something shifted in you during that surrender. Michael Singer teaches that true freedom lives in the space between what happens and how you receive it—not in controlling the external, but in opening to it with sovereignty. This is what you've been practicing.
The threshold is where you feel both versions of yourself at once. The self that learned to yield. The self preparing to reach. Stand in this duality without rushing toward spring or clinging to winter.
Here is your technique for this moment. Find a comfortable seat where you can be still for three minutes. Close your eyes and place one hand on your heart, one on your belly. Begin to feel the natural boundary where your skin meets the air—the literal threshold between your body and the world. As you breathe, imagine that with each exhale you're releasing what no longer serves you from the season past. With each inhale, you're drawing in the potential energy of what's possible. Don't visualize anything elaborate. Simply feel the exchange. Let your breath be the conversation between what you're releasing and what you're welcoming.
As you breathe this way, notice where you feel the most alive. Is it in your chest? Your belly? Your hands? That aliveness is your Inner Signal—the part of you that knows which direction to move without needing to understand it first.
When you open your eyes, you'll notice the world looks the same. But you've stepped from one side of the threshold to the other. You've claimed the freedom that always lived in that gap.
Your intention for today. I will meet this season turning by choosing one response today where I pause before reacting, remembering that freedom lives in that space between what happens and how I respond.
This practice takes 5 minutes. Do it before checking your phone.
