The Body Has Already Decided

The Body Has Already Decided

The body is a discernment organ. Interoceptive signals — carried through the vagus nerve and processed in the insula — register meaning before conscious thought catches up. That gut tightening, that subtle ease: your nervous system was already reading the room.

Sit with both feet on the floor. Feel the weight of your heels pressing down.

There is something you already know. Your body registered it before your mind had words for it — a quiet tightening, a subtle opening, a shift in how you held your breath. That signal was real.

Place one hand on your chest. Let it rest there, not checking, just touching. Ask yourself: what did my body say yes to this week? What did it pull back from?

Don't analyze. Notice the physical memory — warmth or contraction, ease or brace.

Neville Goddard understood this long before the neuroscience had language for it. He taught that the feeling — not the concept, not the analysis — is the creative act. "Assume the feeling," he said. Because the body doesn't speculate. It already knows what is true for you. The sensation in your chest right now is not metaphor. It is data pointing toward action.

Now breathe in slowly, and as you exhale, let your hand feel your chest settle. That settling is not resignation. It is recognition.

Your body already discerned. The practice now is not more noticing — it is letting what you've sensed ask something of you. Discernment that stays in the body and never moves is still a refined form of waiting. Today you practice trusting what it told you enough to take one step toward it.
