The Unlocking: A Pre-Full Moon Opening Practice

Slow, deliberate exhalation activates the vagus nerve — cardiac coherence builds, the stress response softens, and the body begins to release what it has been bracing against.

Find a seat near a window if you can. Place both hands over your chest and feel the steady rise and fall beneath your palms. Notice where you've been holding — a tightness in the jaw, a bracing in the belly, a shoulder drawn up toward the ear. These are the closings. The small doors you shut to get through the week.

With each exhale, let one door ease open. Not flung wide — just unlatched. Breathe into the space behind your sternum. The full moon asks nothing dramatic of you. It only illuminates what was already there, waiting to be seen.

Joe Dispenza spent years mapping what happens when the body finally stops anticipating the worst — when the nervous system shifts out of survival and into something more open. He found that this is not collapse. It is the condition in which real change becomes possible. The science confirms it: a nervous system no longer running on threat cannot also be running toward growth — those two states are biologically incompatible. What you are doing right now, hand on chest, breath slowing, is exactly that: preparing the interior ground.

True freedom is not escape from your roots. It is the flowering those roots make possible. You don't have to bloom all at once. You only have to stop keeping yourself shut.
