The Well Within
Placing your hands over your chest and breathing slowly activates cardiac coherence — your heart rhythm synchronizes, HRV rises, and the nervous system shifts toward the parasympathetic state where restoration becomes possible.
Before the day asks anything of you, place both hands over your chest. Feel the warmth beneath your palms. Breathe in slowly — notice your ribcage expand, your sternum rise. Breathe out completely, letting your hands sink with you.
Now imagine warmth pooling at the center of your chest — not a metaphor, a physical sensation. Let it spread with each exhale: across your collarbone, down your arms, into your belly.
Eckhart Tolle called this the felt sense of presence — the aliveness you notice simply by turning attention inward. What science measures as coherence, he named as the body's intelligence recognizing itself. The longing you feel for more of this warmth is not a sign that it is absent. It is proof you already know what it feels like.
This warmth belongs to you. You are not borrowing it. You are not saving it for someone else. Sit here for five minutes, simply receiving what your own body is already giving.
You are the source and the one being fed.
