Through the Eclipse Door
The act of placing your hand on your sternum and breathing slowly isn't only comfort — it activates cardiac coherence, a measurable synchronization between heart rhythm and brain signals that opens a window in the nervous system where new identity patterning becomes possible. Liminal states do this. An eclipse, physiologically and symbolically, is one of them.
Sit or stand wherever you are this morning. If light is coming through a window, face it. Turn your palm toward it. Feel the actual warmth on your skin — not the idea of warmth, the sensation itself. Photons, heat, contact.
Place your right hand flat on your sternum and let it settle there with some weight. Breathe in through your nose for four counts. Breathe out through your mouth for six. Three times. Feel the slow rise and fall beneath your palm.
Now hold this: today, a solar eclipse traces its path. The moon moves across the face of the sun. In that brief occlusion, the stars around the sun become visible in the daytime sky — stars that were always there, always shining. The sun's light had not disappeared. It had only softened enough for what surrounds it to be seen.
Your body this morning is that sky. The performance — the managed self, the careful presentation — is the sun's brightness. It is not wrong. It simply overpowers.
Let the hand on your sternum be the moon's passage. Feel it steady you. Breathe again — in for four, out for six. Let the brightness soften.
Neville Goddard understood this long before instruments could measure it. He taught that the sovereign self — the I AM — is not something to be constructed or earned. It already exists, fully formed, waiting to be inhabited. Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled, he said. Not someday. Now, in the body, as sensation. What the science names as a window in the nervous system, Goddard named as the veil — and he knew exactly how to step through it. The veil between who you have been pretending to be and who you already are is not a wall. It is light you have been standing too close to see past.
Feel your hand warm against your chest. Feel the sternum solid beneath it. The radiant sovereign is not what you will become. It is what you already are, when the performance quiets long enough for the surrounding stars to appear.
Speak your intention aloud or form it clearly inward: Today I inhabit rather than perform.
The eclipse door opens. Walk through it as yourself.
